Many Tahoe Days and a Visit From the Hansens

If it wasn't for Tahoe Reno would be another Elko or Winnemucca.  But thankfully there is Tahoe.  It is the ideal place to spend hot summer days and it is a quick drive over the mountain.  We love it and try and go whenever we can.  Here are a few of the days documented.
This is when our friends the Hansens came a couple weekends ago.  They were on their way to California but we got to spend a couple days together.  When we were at Tahoe they rented kayaks and paddle boards, which everyone really enjoyed. Here are the boys:

Lucy and Malia enjoyed some time together catching up:

 Clara clearly enjoyed her ride:
A view back to the beach:
 Lovely:
Clara, Bria, and Ada had a glorious time together (this was from my phone and the lens obviously needed to be wiped clean):

Everyone got to enjoy a few minutes on the paddle board too.  Sierra is launching Tucker off here:
This was a different day, when Rob was able to join us:

 Rob diving in:
If you blow this one up you will see Rob diving off the boulders:
 Anders jumping in:
Tucker having a go (super sad that I didn't get Lucy. The camera went funny on me just as she jumped.):

Another very fine Tahoe day.  I think this was a scorcher and the lake felt amazing:

This was the day the boys and Rob were at cub scout camp and we went to Moon Dunes with friends.  Here are the adorable Ellie, Lucy, and Jenni:
The girls giving the Hart boys and Clara a ride.  The water isn't muddy, just shallow.  Tahoe is amazing.  So clear and clean:

Fourth of July 2012

It was another fabulous Fourth.  Lots and lots of pictures.  Sorry.  It began with a 5K with the kids.  They all did awesome.  Tucker took off at the start and we didn't see him again.  He ran a 9 minute mile.  Not bad.  It was a great start to the day and the kids did awesome.

 Our cheering section:
After the race we headed to Emily's for the parade.  The kids got there in time to lick the paddle for the homemade ice cream:
The parade was funnish, but mostly long and hot, as usual:

 Post-parade popsicles:

Then hours of swimming and a great BBQ:

Then it was the foot races and fireworks, ice cream and cookies.  So much fun.  This was the last year we will be able to celebrate at Em's as they plan on moving in the fall.  We have loved loved loved our 4ths spent at their pool.  Such a great time:

Lots of awesome aerial fireworks this year.  They were pretty cool:
