I put Anders in a preschool through Granite school district and the day I dropped him off I felt sick. There were 30 kids in the class and it seemed chaotic and like he would be lost because he is actually pretty well behaved and it seemed like all the energy was focused on reigning in the wilder kids. So I pulled him out and found a place I feel much better about. There are 10 kids in the class, everything was organized and clean and they actually seem like they will have time to teach. He starts today!

Anders Second First Day of School

Garden Update
Our garden has been pretty good this year. Next year I want to do much better and grow much more. This years crops:
eggplant, heirloom tomatoes, roma tomatoes, pear tomatoes, another kind of tomatoes I don't remember, cherry tomatoes, sweet peppers, basil, green bush beans, lettuce. (Next year I want to add zucchini, yellow squash, corn, rainbow kale, spinach, and more heirloom varieties of everything).
The yummiest thing I have made with all of it? Vegetable Panini. I thinly sliced an onion, zucchini, squash from Phil's garden, tomatoes, eggplant, and peppers. Marinated them in olive oil and thyme and ground pepper. Grilled the veggies in my grill pan. Piled them on homemade French bread split in half. Put fresh mozzerella cheese on top and broiled in the oven until the cheese was golden. Sprinkled the top with freshly sliced basil. YUMMY! I wish I took a picture.
Another garden surprise this summer was my zinnias. I didn't get around to planting the seeds this year, but I guess last years plants did the job for me!

The Uintas
Rob's parents have been in town and Rob his parents and the kids have had a few fun adventures. They hiked to Donut Falls, the Rope Swing, and went to the pioneer village. I've been wiped out, maybe from the surgery so haven't tagged along much, but yesterday we all went to the Uintas . Todd and Court came along as well. I've never been there before. It was beautiful. We ate at Washington Lake and then hiked past Tail Lake to Haystack(?????) Lake. The kids played in the ice cold water. Later we drove to Mirror Lake where there were five billion people fishing, but it was still beautiful and then we saw Provo River Falls which was also beautiful. We had a fun day and I'm glad I finally made it to the Uintas. Utah has so many amazingly beautiful places.
