Hastings Reunion Part 3: Yellowstone

We spent a day in Yellowstone with millions of other tourists.  Even though it was crowded it was still great.  Well except for the part where we lost a car and didn't have coverage and so we were separated for most of the day.  Anyway, we started at these geysers:

I tried to get a photog of Tristan and Clara, but he wanted nothing to do with it.  So Rob intervened.  I think it turned out well:

Jim teaching Ever to be a rule breaker:
This was the spot where the tragic separation occured.  But this was before when we were all blissfully unaware of the tragedy that was about to strike:

This was at Artist Paintpots.  Kind of stinky:
Next stop was the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.  We hiked down to the brink of one of the Falls.  Lovely:

We finally contacted the other half of our group and headed down to Old Faithful to meet up.  These guys were hanging out on the side.  Pretty awesome:

We made it to Old Faithful and after some searching the group was reunited:

Next was Biscuit geyser.  Beautiful.  I'd like a swimming pool this color in my back yard please:

There was some playing in the river:

And some dusk animal gazing:

Hastings Reunion: Idaho, Part 2

Monday was an excellent day. It began with a trip up to Big Springs (where ginourmous amounts of water bubble up and and form the Henry's Fork of the Snake River). The water was so clear.  We walked around to the Johnny Sack cabin which was built by an extremely short man.  Tucker quipped that he got sick of the teasing and escaped to the woods and built himself a cabin.

After Big Springs we followed the river down a ways where we rented a couple of rafts and some tubes for a float trip.  The water was crystal clear and the scenery was beautiful.  We had a great time.

We stopped along the way at this rope swing/swimming hole and several of the clan enjoyed a refreshingly cold dip.

Such a great day!
