A Salt Lake Field Trip

After we were certain Clara was done barfing, we decided to go to SLC via Front Runner.  Pretty fun to be able to train it up there.  SLC has really come into it's own.

Our first stop was the great and spacious mall of the abominable....I mean the church owned City Creek mall.  And of course H&M was a must:
Some shopped but others really enjoyed the fountains:

We had dinner at Blue Lemon:

After more playing in the fountains we went across the street to Temple Square, which as always was immaculate and beautiful:

We topped the day off with a delicious treat, gelato from Harmons, the best grocery store in the world.

Porch Monkey Sunday

After church on Sunday (Church was great, by the way. Interesting discussions, real discussions, etc.  Why can't all wards be like my parents ward, sigh?) Rachel Edgren was in town and stopped by for a visit.  Very fun to see her.
 Dinner was delish:

After dinner Megan, who was also in town, Jeff, Amy, Katy, and Eliza came by for a long porch monkey session. Nicole even stopped by later for a bit. Good times.  So fun to catch up with the cousins:

I believe this picture features every one of the HDT granddaughters except Katy the squirrely newlywed who can't attend hang out sessions:
I love me a good Provo summer.  (except this day was too hot).
Sad side note about this day.  Poor Carla Sue got a bad stomach bug and was throwing up all night every 20 minutes.  Poor thing.  She was so cute though after one of her bouts of barfing.  "Mom, towels are so useful.  They can dry you off, wipe up throw up, and if you don't have a blanket they can keep you warm."  Wise words.

Provo Rec Center

We arrived Friday evening in Provo and on Saturday morning we decided to check out the new Provo Rec Center which is all levels of awesome.  I have to admit my favorite part of the whole place, though, is the old Veteran's pool.  Nothing like a good old gimmick free swimming pool.

Wish we had a place like this in Reno!

The Interim

We had four days between our Hawaii trip and our Utah trip so we packed in some fun times.  First we caught up on our sleep.  Clara fell asleep Sunday afternoon.  Those red eyes wear you out:

My friend Zana moved so we had a send off party for her.  So sad:
We managed to squeeze in a pool day and a Tahoe day:
And we hiked to the Mt. Rose waterfall with Katie and Wendy:
