Catching Up: Scouting

We have lots of scouting happening around here.  Clara is in Brownies, the boys are up to there eyeballs in campouts and merit badges, I'm unhappily, resentfully, and bitterly the cub scout master.  There is a long story that adds to my resentment and institutional gender discrimination bothers me to my bones so I feel like I'm helping to perpetuate the terrible inequality, so that adds to it as well.  Anyway.  Deep breath.  Moving on....   Rob is the assistant Scout Master.

We did the girls snack badge at our house.  Things got out of control this day.  Accidents, tears, drama.  Wow, it was nuts.  But oh well:

 Girl Scout cookie time!
Various campouts.  This is a great group of leaders and boys.  (The boys are learning so many cool things and getting a lot of pretty great leadership opportunities.  It's great.  Lucy's experience in the church couldn't be more night and day.  Sorry, I can't not shut up about it.  I'm so so so appalled by the disparity. Yup it REALLY bugs.  Happy for my boys.  Sad for my Lucy.)

This solves the mystery of why the boys reek of campfire smoke when they get home.

I'm So Far Behind I'm Just Going To Do A Few Giant Posts, So....

Let's get this baby all caught up.  Here is Christmas morning and Christmas day:

Clara proudly picked this out for Lucy who is a fan of tacos and making fun of cats:

Someone named Anna wasted her entire day doing this puzzle.  Don't let the kids confuse you.  This was taken the last 5 minutes they helped.  It was a solo event:

Rob had to work in Elko the week after Christmas but he drove to Utah with us and had a couple of days. They spent one of the days on the slopes of Sundance.  Clara did not do well.  I had to go pick her up.  It was COLD:

While the kids skied a few cousins went swimming:

We woke up on Monday to glorious amounts of snow:

So sledding at Rock Park Canyon was in order:

New Year's Eve was pretty meh.  We tried to spice it up, but it was kinda bland:
We spent a fun day at the Museum of Natural Curiosity.  Tucker was sick and didn't make it.  But the other three tried the ropes course which was terrifying for some, but fun for others:

There were some game nights, some movies, some going out to dinner, some meeting up with friends for breakfast and dinners, mostly not pictured:

There was the fabulous New Years Day Greek Fest.  We wised up and used the church.  Such a large crowd.  The Dance Partay-lor was the best:

We crossed paths with the Homers, who took the boys skiing at Sundance on an even colder day:

And here hopefully will be some go pro ski footage.  Blogger stinks at video uploads:

Well apparently I need to load them onto youtube then post them.  Which may or may not happen.  Oh well.  Next big catch up post coming soon.
