Weekend Trips

Rob and I went to Twin Falls.  It was a small town.  But the river gorge was pretty:

The drive home was stormy and dramatic.
 We flew back to Billings:
Montana is scenic for sure.  At least parts that aren't Billing's.  This was outside of Bozeman heading to Big Sky:

Big Sky:

Yellowstone:

Hard to see, but this was a mama bear and her cub:

The drive back to Billings was unreal.  Absolutely unreal:

The ice cream portions were large:

Fathers and Sons and Clara

Clara wanted to go.  So Rob took her.  She had fun.  They all mostly had fun.

End of the Year Concerts and Recitals

Our calendar felt packed with concerts and recitals at the end of the year.  The piano recital this year was a mixed bag.  Tucker dinked around practicing and failed to master his songs, Anders rocked it, and Lucy for whatever reason had a mental block and her songs were hard for her.  She has hated piano lately and we decided to let her quit, which makes me super sad.  Maybe we will just let her take the year off.  Tucker was going to get fired, but he swore he would stop dinking around and apply himself, and so he is getting another chance.  Anders is on the cusp of great things:

Lucy's final orchestra concert was held at the Atlantis and they sounded great. She has also decided to not do orchestra next year.  She has too many other classes she wants to take and so will just do private lessons and ensemble.

This was the kid's strings and ensemble concert:

 Anders orchestra final concert.
Here is Tucker's concert.  They sounded great.  Mr. O'Neill does a great job.  Tucker also got to go to Music in the Parks, and traveled for a weekend to Vallejo and partied at 6 Flags.  They did really well in the competition.

Husky Art

The art program at the elementary school runs off of volunteers.  Which is pretty lame.  BUT, it is fun to be the art mom.  This year I did art with Clara's class and we covered the elements of art.  At the end of the year is an art show.  Here is what we did:

Anders teacher was new to the school this year and there were some serious communication issues (she doesn't email), so I only made it in a couple of times to do art with his class.  A couple other teachers made it in (which is why parent volunteer art is a bad idea.  Good grief Nevada, hire art teachers).  Anyway in Anders' class we did cubist portraits and paper tearing landscapes.
