In the morning, our last morning, we got up and walked down Kensington Church Street. I would live in this neighborhood if someone would let me.
"Whenever I walk on a London street, I'm ever so careful to watch my feet, and I keep in the squares...."
We walked past the whimsical Churchill Arms Pub. That is a lot of watering.
The view of the church.
This flower stall in front of the church is charming.
After an emergency potty stop at Marks and Sparks we caught the tube from High Street Kensington to Westminster.
We crossed the bridge and enjoyed the view then walked up the river towards Lambeth.
Lambeth Palace
And finally we arrived at our destination. The Tate Britain. This place is truly where I fell in love with art. It was a delightful nostalgic return.
We had to hurry to Borough Market where we were to meet back up with the Montez fam, who spent the morning at the Tower of London. It was a nice walk past Parliament.
Mrs. Pankhurst!!!
Borough Market was fantastic, right next to Southwark cathedral, and filled with all kinds of tasty lunch choices, and a lot of people.
Some of us had pie and mash with minty mushy peas, and it was grand.
We nipped into Southwark cathedral.
We stopped by the Old Operating Theatre. Wish we'd have had more time. Super interesting.
Across the street was the home of a famous poet whose name we all know, but who I can't currently recall.
We tubed over to Holland Park and got out and had a wonderful walk through Kensington Gardens on our way to the palace.
Clara did hundreds of cartwheels. I'm not kidding.
The palace was great. Favorite was probably the dresses.
More paper coolness.
We ate dinner at the Italian place near the flat. Then we wandered down to Whiteleys. This was the Body Shop Jennette and I frequented. We stopped into Sainsburys and bought over a hundred pounds worth of sweets to take back with us!!! We stopped for gelato and wandered past the BYU London center.
The adults and Lucy left everyone at the flat to play card games and we walked back down KCS to Holland Park.
We had one more dessert of sticky toffee pudding that night. The next morning we left. Oh sob. What a grand grand adventure. We tubed it to Heathrow.
Goodbye dear England.
Hello Provo.
This trip was truly truly a dream. Loved it.
