Alrighty, let me see if I can remember what we did this day. Actually this was a great day with lovely weather. I wish we would have had LJ with us, but she had class. We began at Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge. Back in the day fishermen crossed over and boated out. There was a cove that looked so tempting for swimming. We arrived first thing and beat the giant crowds (there was a busload of senior Germans that we ran into a few times). Anyway, very cool.
Excellent view of Rathlin Island
So next up we parked at Giant's Causeway and then made pregnant Courtney run to catch a bus that took us down the coast about 5 miles so we could hike along the coast to Giant's Causeway. It was so pretty and I am so glad we did it. Another grand way to escape the hoardes. My knee was gimpy and I had to hike with one leg straight so looked like an idiot, but I got 'er done. We started the hike at Dunseverick Castle which basically doesn't exist. Whit and Rob explored but the gimp and the prego lady grazed blackberries whilst we waited for them.
We left Giant's Causeway and went to Dunluce Castle, which is pretty magical in my opinion. Loved it so much. We even had some real food there after chips and chocolate only. That was a treat.
Back in Belfast we had a scrummy dinner. We ate at the Cloth Ear which was a really delicious and cool place. And the waiter sold us all on the meat pie and he did not lead us astray.
That night we had an odd tour by a character named Marti. Street art and pub music. As eccentric as the guy was it was still fun. TONS of street art in Belfast. Also ended the night with some fun music in a bustling pub. All in all, no regrets.
