"The Cheese Stands Alone" Clara's Second Grade Performance

Clara's class performed a cute play.  Clara was little camembert and delivered her lines boldly and with a British accent.  The girl was born to the stage.

Adventures in Geocacheing

On Sunday, while Papa was in town, we went up to Timberline and geocached on Thomas Creek.  I think I'm not a geocacheing type.  I like to go.  Geocacheing makes you stop and search around.  And we only found 2 of 5 we were looking for.  But it was fun anyway:

Not sure why the gaitor came, but anyway:

This one didn't get found because the log was slippery and so Rob turned around before he found it:

 Lucy did some portraiture:

Clara's 8th Birthday Extravaganza

First, it's more than a little hard to believe how fast time is going.  I don't remember time going so quickly, when I was young.  It must be a law of physics or something.  Anyway.  Clara is 8!  She is 8 and great!  She is spunky, kind, smart, curious, cute, talented, and fun.  We love her.

For her birthday this year there wasn't a friend party.  She got up and got her big present.  A bike with gears! (Which she can't change....yet).  Then it was off to Mount Rose for some skiing.  She was lucky enough to meet up with her pal Stone and they had fun together.  Papa was also in town, helping celebrate:

After skiing there was a bike ride down to Saddlehorn Park:

Then off to a late afternoon viewing of this:
Followed by a late dinner at Macaroni Grill:

Late, late, late night present opening.

By the time we got through presents it was way too late for the shake (she didn't want cake), so the following night we made toffee explosion shakes and she blew out the candles.  It was a great celebration!
