Table Scraps

Rob and I have no pride. We are like dogs waiting for food to drop. And a nice piece of meat just dropped. Thanks to the generosity of my sister Emily and her hubby Jayson we are the proud owners of a decent sized T.V. that even has speakers. They bought an uber-fancy system and gave us their not so shabby old system. We have had the same little T.V. for ten years. We bought it with wedding money. Anyway, to go with the new TV we went to Ikea and bought an entertainment center and bookshelves. We moved the upstairs couch and chair (hand-me-downs of course...if you are interested in their provenance they started with Grandma Green--Aunt Colette's mom-- then cousin Megan then sister Emily and now us) downstairs, and now our family room actually feels like a family room, rather than a yard sale collection of crap. Our new sofa for our living room is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday and suddenly we will be the owners of first-hand furniture!!! I may have to buy a gun to gaurd the couch from filthy children and evil-doers that want to destroy my new couch.

We also may soon be owners of my parents iMac as well. I jokingly planted seeds in my Dad's mind a month ago when I told him he should by a new Mac and give us their old one. He just well may do that, and I was only teasing. I'm a well trained dog, I guess.
Now let's see what else do we need? A new dishwasher? Yup...anyone needing a new one? We take hand-me-downs! Did I mention we have no pride?

Oh dear, don't say "used", call it what it is: "pre-owned." Congratulations! May watching the premieres of Lost and the Office be as exciting as ever.

Now, I can't wait to see pics of the new furniture for your front room.

Hey, isn't today (8/14) your actual 10th anniversary? A big congratulations on that too! wow. How is it that we've all now become such oldyweds? And where did all these children come from? And these bags under my eyes? Yet I'm still wearing the same kind of scoop-neck tees that I did in highschool. I fear to look in the mirror and see that my hair is in the same style as then too. Have I become Diane Lohner at long last?

Anywayzzz, I hope you guys get a great night out together.....or at least a fun movie in with the new entertainment set-up!

Hey, at least your hair isn't as in a rut as mine. I'm pretty sure mine looks quite similar to what it did at the good ol' junk skool! Thanks for the happy anniversary wishes.
And Sarah, do you like my tacky residency countdown with money in the background? It is in bad taste, I know. But a shopping spree in a few years sounds great to me!

OKay that made me laugh so hard out loud! I have been thinking about adding one of those but I didn't know if that would make it worse! You are a year ahead of me so maybe I will wait until next year! I LOVE IT!!!!

Due to the magnificence of your future shopping sprees, I'm having a hard time mustering any sympathy for your current state. At least you don't sleep in the bed where your uncle passed away (which is a SUPER comfortable pillow-top for which I am very thankful).

I sure hope you get the iMac. That would be awesome.
