Slightly Pathetic

It's January; a useless month.  I mean it is cold, we are getting cabin fever, no great holiday to look forward to, and this month, I am feeling a bit pathetic.  Why?
Well it is the 11th and my Christmas tree is still up!  There are a few reasons for this.  One, it is so fresh still, and in fact is producing new shoots!  Second, at the mention of taking down the tree the kids protest, and I inwardly protest too.  Third, and this is probably the biggest factor which is why I am so pathetic;  I am way too lazy.  It would be a lot of work, and I don't want to spend an afternoon doing it.
Another thing: my acne is out of control.  I mean that.   Oh it is bad.  And yes I have tried Proactive, meds, masks, etc.  It's just bad, and I suppose I will just have to deal with it.
And one more thing.  Lucy is learning her times tables....and well, as it turns out so am I. Math was never my passion. Pathetic, no?
Lastly, and this one isn't me.  It's Clara who is being pathetic.  The kid WON'T NAP AND I AM MORE THAN A LITTLE ANNOYED.  When she finally cries herself to sleep, she wakes herself up within at least 20 minutes with a fully loaded, icky diaper.  Every time.  PATHETIC!
Okay enough whining for now.  I'm off to contemplate taking down the tree.

I am more pathetic because my tree is totaly dead, but, it is still up. I got the decorations off but we dont know how we are supposed to get rid of it so there it sits.

I feel your pain. I did take my tree down the day after Christmas because I hated the clutter...but you can just put hearts on the tree and make it a Valentine tree.
Sounds like you and Rob need a little trip. That will give you something to looks forward to!
Good luck, hang in there!

Anna - don't forget to talk to me about skin problems when I see you on the 26th. Or call if you want to talk sooner. I have found some things that work - but after trying Proactive, etc - I finally had to break down and see a derm. Or maybe you have already tried that.

It will all turn in to wonderful memories in time. The icky parts will all fade away, I promise.

you could be like us and take the tree down but leave it on your porch for 2 weeks. Love that!

And I thought I was the only one who had a hard time getting down the Christmas decorations. Good to know I have kindred spirits out there. I hate getting everything down and put away. We finally have it all away, but there was a point last week when I thought I'd never get done. Phew!

The major benefit of Christmas on the mainland -- no tree to take down. Part of Emerson's law of compensation, I guess.

Don't feel bad, Anna. Our tree's still up (and everything else). We were so slow decorating, it just seems like it needs to stay up for a while! And, let's be honest--it's a big job to get it all put away!
