What Would You Do?

Our house is currently a balmy 50 something degrees.  A part on the furnace is broken.  We could wait until Monday and Rob could easily buy and replace the part for $50 or we could have someone come today (Saturday....of course) and pay $300+.  Have I ever mentioned how much I love home ownership?
I am FREEZING!!!!
Mom and Dad, you may have some weekend visitors.

You would be welcome.

Home ownership is certainly not what most people dream that it will be.

Just pretend you are Laura Ingles.

Put on a sweater and save yourself $$$$$$. Then again, I am cheap!!! Our thermometer is set at 64.

50 something? Sounds like our home each morning lately. We live in sweaters and jackets. (Finally took my jacket off a little after noon today.)

Space heaters, anyone? If we had any we would loan you some. Maybe someone in your ward has some! Good luck! I remember in Vermont when we heated (ha ha) our big house with a small kerosene heater. yikes. Gotta love home ownership.

That's a bummer! You have definitely had your woes with owning a home. You have every right to be bitter :-) Good luck!

I hate the cold (as I sit here in a fleece jacket and a down blanket over my legs). I can't believe what it costs to keep our house heated to a lovely 64!! Still, I'd save the moolah and wrap the kids up tight and wait until Monday for Handyman Hastings.

Too bad our solar system isn't centered around a massive source of free daily energy.

Oh, but Will, haven't you done your research on global dimming?

I've been taught that research only leads to trouble, so I just avoid it altogether.

As I see it, if I can't fix it with a credit card, duct tape, or a gun, then it ain't worth messin' with.
