Big Love Controversy
I don't know about y'all, but my inbox has been flooded by people worried about the show, Big Love, portraying a sacred endowment ceremony. I'v been invited to join facebook groups in protest, sign things, call people, boycott, etc. I don't know why, but I don't give two hoots about this. HBO/Big Love's choice to depict the ceremony in no way affects me or my testimony or truth or the church. It just seems that these kinds of things come up all the time then they blow over and the church remains, unscathed. I was pleased to read that church's official stance on this is basically, do what you want, but this too shall pass. Don't worry. It will blow over and our temple will still be sacred and the work of the church will carry on. Read what they say here.

That was EXACTLY what I thought!
I agree!
Thanks Anna, for the link to that article from the church! I had not even heard anything about the Big Love controversy, but I really appreciated the article and thought it was really good and it set my mind at ease.
i agree. i was all worried about that movie that came out about the mountain meadows massacre, and then i read that the box office actually LOST money on the film because virtually no one went to see it. i was encouraged by what the church leaders said. no one can stop the work.
Yup. I agree. You can see it all and read it all on the internet anyway, so what's the big deal. Who watches the show anyway?
D.
I agree with you Anna. I think it's worthless to get all worked up. I'm glad to belong to a church that is still worthy of being mocked.
Amen!
Exactly!!
I had read that before and like all of you, really appreciated the church's calm response. I especially liked the final comments, that the church will not allow the opponents to choose the ground on which we do battle.
Yikes. We need to get back to actually building Zion so that we don't get so easily distracted and threatened by gnats in our soup. A lot of sound and fury signifying....
