More Clara-ism's

Last night at around midnight Clara climbed into my gigantic king size bed and for the rest of the night stuck to me like a magnet; kicking my head, kicking my back, grinding her teeth, and basically keeping me awake. First words out of her mouth when she woke up this morning, "What in world am I doing in your bed?" "Good question. You came in last night." With indignation and disgust. "No I didn't. You carried me in here. Why did you do that?" Someday she won't be quite so crazy, but it won't be as entertaining.

Talking with a friend about where their grandparents live:
Friend: "My Mom's Grandma (her mom's mom, I believe) lives in St. George."
Clara: "Well my Grandma lives on the beach."
Friend: "With sharks?"
Clara: "Yes."

At pack meeting the scouts did a service project.  Toys were collected to put together for birthday "bags" to give to children at a homeless shelter.  I brought home a bag of toys to donate.
Clara: "Who are those for."
Me: "They are for children that don't have homes so they can have some toys."
Clara, completely enraged, "EVERYONE HAS HOMES AND TOYS.  EVERYONE!"
I tried explaining...but she wouldn't believe me, repeating the mantra that everyone has homes and toys.  Finally the boys talked her into believing this concept.  All day she has been talking about the kids that don't have toys and homes.  I think her little brain is trying to wrap itself around this one.  Big concept for her (a sad one, but her anger was hilarious).

She is a kick. I was amazed at her ability to entertain herself for hours on end. And reading her bedtime stories was a highlight!
