Utah Trip: Fourth of July

This year we broke with tradition!  Wow!  Rob (who was in town, Hoorah!) took the 3 youngest up to the Y with Gavin and kids early in the am.  I ran the 5K with Millie.  And then not a soul wanted to go to the parade, Hallelujah!  So the real festivities began with a Taylor clan gathering at the cabin.
The Picnic at Altamont:
Em and Ann, who has recently relocated to Provo:
The Ringer ladies:

A hike to the falls took place:
The high schoolers:

That evening we gathered at Steve and Tiff's for BBQ, games, and cul de sac of fire:

It's a long wait for the dark, but we found plenty to keep us amused:

Barring the fact that Journey didn't perform in the cul de sac, I say we beat out Stadium of Fire for sure.  We even had our own flyover:

After dark we shot off our own aerials and then we headed back to the Westside where we enjoyed Stadium of Fire from Kiwanis Park.  It was another grand Fourth:

It was a good 4th. I'm sorry we didn't get to the cabin, but we did get the internet fixed. Oh well.

Can't believe you broke with tradition! Looks like lots of fun. Is that one of Maren's boys face-planting in the yard? That looks very unfortunate.
