More October and some of November

This should be five different posts, but how will I ever catch up, if I go post by post?  I won't.  So here it goes, one big post to wrap up October.  After Cross Country and soccer these guys were back to climbing.  They are doing the comp team atSanta Fe climbing in the beautiful brand new gym.
Speaking of the gym, Clara had a day off of school and she invited some friends to climb and then they came back to our house for lunch, cookie making, and silliness. These are such nice girls.  Clara has made some really good friends.

I took the kids for a hike on the Sierra Del Norte section of the Dale Ball trails.  We ended up gathering pinons along the way.  Kind of tedious but really addicting as there are so many on the trail and you just start picking them up and then you can't stop.

Rob and I hiked Atalaya.  It was steep.  Like really steep.  And hard.  I was kind of dying.  But it was very cool.  There were even a group of teens smoking weed, so that was fun.

While we hiked Atalaya the kids carved their pumpkins.  That is a major milestone.  We didn't have to carve pumpkins.  The kids did it all by themselves.  Did you hear that?  Did you see me jump for joy?  I hate carving pumpkins.  I used to love it, but I'm over it.  And they did it.  Woot!

Monday was Halloween and the kids all dressed up for school.  Prep has a big party and contest.  Lucy and Tron both won.  Clara's school had a little parade.  That night Clara was invited by her friend S. to trick or treat and party.  Families were invited.  But we really only have one trick or treater left.  Weird.

 Queen Elizabeth
 Siracha Sauce
 Bob Ross
So you know how Pinteresty some women can be?  At least the ones in my last ward were.  Big time.  Like everything had to be pinterest worthy and it was super annoying. These brownies would not have passed muster in that crowd.  But I took them to the party Clara was invited to and everyone thought I was Martha Stewart.  It made me laugh and it is utterly refreshing to live among non Pinterest performing people.  No really, I was laughing at how super star people thought I was for sticking hershey's bars into the brownies.
Last but not least Rob is a fudge genius.  And he made a lot of it.  Danger.

We did some minor renovations which, like everything else in Santa freakin' Fe cost a large fortune.  Geeze Louise it's discouraging.  If we are living in such an expensive place can't it at least be a cool place?  Ugh.  Anyway, we replaced some lights and had some bookshelves built and added some lights in the hall.

 The slug in corset lights

These book boxes almost came to feel normal after so many months of sitting in the hall.
These metal fixtures replaced the corsetted slug fixtures.
And since there was no light in the hall except these really ugly metal wall fixtures we added led on a cable system.

 Silly girl.  No filter.

And to wrap it up, some pretty digital macro.  Fall thistles and pretty skies.

Digital macro! Love. And the fudge. So delightful. And I can attest that the renovations are great. Also really loving the costumes. Especially Bob Ross. Nailed it.

Nice! I don't know pinons. Your kids are big - carving pumpkins while you hike? The hike looks great. Your kids are so good at Halloween. Bob Ross is hilarious. I want Rob's fudge and fudge skills. And I need to see your house! Santa Fe looks lovely.
