Kyoto Day 10

This day was forecast to be rainy so we started at the national museum.

It was more of a drizzle than a down pour. So with the right gear we were just fine.  Next we went to the Fushimi Inari shrine with the Tori gate trail, which was definitely incredible.  It was a longish hike up and we were in the clouds so it felt pretty steamy.  At first it was jam packed with tourists but the higher we got the more we had it to ourselves.  It was pretty magical.

Nice view up top.

Signage in Japan is the best.

We grabbed lunch in the bottom of the Tokoshimaya department store.  They had everything you could want....think of the Japanese version of Harrod's food hall, and since there was no place to eat we went upstairs in McD's, a few ordered fries and drinks, and we ate our feat there.  We next went to the covered Nishiki market which was pretty cool.

After the kids were deposited home the adults went out on the town.  It was fun.  The karaoke was super fun for me and Shannon, not so fun for Dave, and a nightmare for Rob.
