Ireland Part 6

We began our day with coffee and breakfast at the cute thatched cottage.  From thence we went to St. Colomb's near the Derry walls.

Almost bought it, because Sister Michael is our favorite.
We got the car and drove to Grianan of Aileach, an ancient Ring Fort.  We were back in Ireland now in County Donegal, which is stunning.

Next we drove to Glenveagh National Park where we had very moody weather and were lucky the downpour held out until we were headed back to the car.  We walked along the lake to the American built early 20th C castle.  The gardens were lovely, even though it was late in the season, and the views were excellent.

These are popular in Santa Fe, so surprised to seem them in a wet climate.

We drove back to Derry and actually this was the night we attempted a pub meal but it was too crowded.  The night before we ate at a great place in the Craft Village.  Found a pretty good place closer to our Airbnb.  Funny how you can now find good food everywhere.  20 years ago the world food scene wasn't so good.  Hooray for food lovers.

Sister Michael is the best. Can't wait for a new season.
