When Rob and I came to Reno to look for a rental we were here for the balloon races. We have wanted to take the kids but getting up at 4 am on a weekend has never happened. Until this year. We couldn't convince the boys to join us, but we took the girls. It was a lot of fun. Maybe next year we will even make it to the dawn patrol one. But maybe not.

Cross Country
Cross Country at Pine is a short four week season. The boys enjoyed it and did well. They both were towards the front of the pack and it was fun to see them run.

Lost Fox Adventure Club
A friend of Clara's decided to start a club. And her parents are awesome and helped her plan the Lost Fox Adventure Club. Anyway, the first grand adventure was over Labor Day weekend and Rob took Clara and the boys. The first stop was a museum in Elko:
Clara and Scout (the founder):
That night they camped at Metropolis a town planned and settled by Mormon's who forgot to look into water rights. They wanted it to be the biggest city between Denver and San Francisco. Turns out water is kind of important to town planning. So now it's abandoned.
Either there are potguts or zombies:
They camped in the high school:
The next day they backpacked to a lake in the Ruby Mountains and camped:
By all accounts it was an amazing adventure and I'm glad they got to go. While they were adventuring Lucy and I made a quick trip to Provo to meet Evelyn. It was perfect timing because Katy ended up in the hospital on Sunday with kidney stones and Lucy, Madi, and I got to spend the day with bambino. She's pretty sweet. All in all I think we all had a great Labor Day weekend.
