It was a sad occasion saying goodbye to everyone and heading back on the road. However, the road trip was fun, and again we stopped along the way and saw some great places. I know driving for 5 days should put me off of road trips for life, but driving across the country and realizing just how much there is to see and do gives me a huge case of fomo, and makes me want to take an entire month or two and just explore to my hearts content.
Wyoming feels like the top of the world and the clouds are so amazing:
Eastern Iowa and Missouri were surprisingly beautiful. We stopped for dinner in a charming little midwest town called Clarinda. I imagine there are hundreds of great towns just like it all over the midwest:
The sunset was spectacular:
WV round 1:
And back to WV:
and crap, crap, it's WV again, grab the camera, quick:
And back to VA:

That was a ton of driving; I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I have eaten in that same shelter in Wyoming I believe, on a road trip to see you in NE oh so many years ago.

It's been a long, long time since we drove across country -- 1974 was our drive from D.C. to Washington and back to Ann Arbor. I suspect things have changed a bit.
It was a great trip and turns out there is so much in this country I need to see. Life just seems simpler in the Midwest. Thank you for your dedication and willingness to take all those wv sign pictures.
Man, I would have loved to have traveled with you guys. Livin' the dream.
