A Very Merry Christmas!

We spent most of Christmas Eve in the car driving back from SoCal.  We had a delicious (sorta) dinner at a restaurant near Mount Whitney and arrived late at home where we proceeded with our usual traditions.  Jammies, the scripture account of Jesus' birth, and then the preparations for Santa.

The kids didn't wake up very early, but once Clara woke up at her usual 7:00 hour the party got started in our room.

Lucy's gift inspired shock and awe in her:

It was kind of nice to take a break and go to church.  Christmas always feels like Sunday anyway, so it was nice to go and worship.  And our ward choir was really awesome and it was very uplifting and Christmasy:
The second we got home the kids changed back into their jammies and enjoyed their loot.  Christmas at our house always looks as if a bomb has gone off:

I made a turkey.  It was really pathetic, but looked especially pathetic when it fell out of the baking bag and into the pot:
Dinner was festive, if not entirely as delicious as I had hoped for, and we all had a very merry Christmas:

The turkey is hysterical. If you don't like it, you can always set it out for the feral pigs to eat.

It looks cozy and festive and I'm glad you got to spend it in your home. We have love having you here post-Christmas.

That fire looks so festive! It looks like a wonderful day. Your kids are absolutely adorable all dolled up in their church clothes. A very nice looking bunch!
