Spring Break Part 6: Liberty and Ellis Island, and more.

Thursday was cooooold.  And we had tickets for a morning ride out to Liberty Island.  Did I mention it was cold?

I just can't seem to get the hang of selfies.  And this is a fact I remain proud of.

No selfie stick needed here:

Mr. Gustav Eifel played a role in this whole gift thing:
Did I mention it was cold?  Because it was really cold:

Next up was Ellis Island which was interesting and warm:

From Battery Park we cruised to South Street Seaport to pick up tix from TKTS and from there back to Wall Street to get rich and eat lunch.  We lucked out on lunch but didn't increase our wealth:

We went into Federal Hall, which we hadn't done before:

Back into the church:
Our city pass gave us entre into the Guggenheim so we took the subway uptown and we found out it is closed on Thursdays:

So we walked up a block to the Cooper-Hewitt design museum housed in the Carnegie mansion.  I had some purist angst that the incredible home is being kind of seriously ruined.  Can't they restore the house and make it a historical home and move the museum to a better venue?  Pleeeease?  But the museum was really fun.  Lots of cool interactive displays and lots of cool gadgets and gizmos:

We enjoyed a stroll through Central Park on our way towards Broadway and Times Square for our show.  Central Park is a gem, but I sort of wish weather wise we had made it just a week later:

We got tickets to On The Town.  The production was really amazing.  Great singing, amazing dancing, awesome set.  But stupid 1950's plotless story.  Dang it.  We should have gotten tickets to Phantom.  I might regret our choice for life, like I regret not making it into the Sistine Chapel by 15 minutes.  Ugh:

Another great day in NYC.

Bummer about the cold. Ugh. And about the show. But the pictures are beautiful. Super excited to go back to the Statue. Also, the central park pic of flowers in foreground and the fam in back walking is great. Robert's work? I'm impressed.
