We wanted to check out the Timpanooke trail and made plans to rise early and drive up. It was cloudy, and as we headed up the canyon stormy. We were optimistic, but it really was too rainy to attempt. Instead we enjoyed the stunning rainy mountain views of the Alpine Loop:
Round 2 the weather was much more cooperative and we had a lovely hike. For my money, though, if you are hiking Timp the Aspen Grove trail is STUNNING. This trail is beautiful, but I think it can't compare to Aspen Grove.

P.S. It is Timpooneke. I know! Super crazy. Google it. Absolutely everyone I know says Timpanooke. Making this discovery was like learning I had been adopted or something of the like.
