December Part 1

Christmas rolled around, once again, and we kicked it off with a lovely decorating party.  Tradition!

Clara had friends over.  They decorated cookies, made homemade pizza, and watched The Jungle Book.  I can't tell you how happy I am about her new friends.  They are simply wonderful as are their parents and families.  Also the cookies are so over-frosted it almost makes one gag.

Prep had an art night and we got to go see all Lucy's cool ceramics creations on display.  I just can't get over the awesomeness of this school.  The art program is stellar.  Then again, so is LJ.
It was pajama day and crazy hair day at RGS.  They don't take crazy hair day as seriously at RGS as they did at Hunsberger, so this one took the cake.
I had a major life ephiphany when I discovered the petite section.  When you aren't itsy bitsy thin and you are itsy bitsy short it is IMPOSSIBLE to find clothes.  And then I'm at Dillards and I wander through the petite section and my life changed for the better.
We went to a Christmas party which featured stilts and an indoor snowball fight.

The boys are in the SF Youth Philharmonic and had their winter concert.

Additionally the boys participated in Santa Fe's Pro Musica CHAMPS ensemble.  They were not in love with their piece.  Life is too hectic this semester and they aren't doing it.  But hopefully next fall they will.

Last but definitely not least the kids have a WONDERFUL new piano teacher.  Anders wanted to learn Dirty Paws by Monsters and Men.  And he put in the work and it sounded awesome.  He played in the school talent show.  Nailed it.

Here is the original version.

Love the decorating party - I want to steal that tradition. And love Clara's adorable friends. Good friends make all the difference. Also love the incredible talent of all the children.

I, too, love your annual decorating party. So happy Clara made good friends and the school is good. The petite breakthrough is exciting for you. And yes - you've got talented kids. The philharmonic sounds amazing.
