The wedding approached and there was much to be done. On the Thursday before Em picked up the flowers Millie ordered and we spent the afternoon arranging them. They turned out lovely after a few snafus.
That evening Maren and I took our kids up to see Mama Mia at Sundance. Good fun. (Gavin arrived back from France whilst we were up there). The best part was the end when, at the invitation of the actors, everyone stood and danced and sang along, I mean everyone, and yet our children were mortified that Maren and I stood and danced too. Totally and utterly mortified. Ha!
The next morning we set up for the rehearsal dinner. My Dad and I mostly worked on the cakes while Em, Madi, and Maren and Leanne (or was it Leandra???) did the set up.
My Dad went early early to pick up Philo T from the airport. That afternoon I went to the airport that Friday to pick up Rob and Lu. Jamie picked up Will, and the next morning we had a lovely porch session complete with the crazy neighbor drop by that makes some of us cringe, and then we headed up the canyon to help with wedding setup.
Juana (Erick's mom) had a friend from her church who made carnitas. They simmered all day in the park in a giant vat.....and it was DELICIOUS.
The prep for the actual wedding involved hair and make up.

Many hands make light work. Everyone did splendidly!
So you were behind the cakes! Man, weddings are so much work. Good job, team.
So much work. But everything looks perfect.
