The morning began with a shuttle ride from Times Square to Grand Central. When one thinks about how many rats must live in NYC....best not to think about it.
We grabbed breakfast at this place where Challey and I regularly patronized back in the nanny days:
From Grand Central we walked down 42nd to Bryant Park, and the New York Public Library, which is such a great building:
They had a great photography exhibit on display and we got to see this iconic DL:
And this treasure hangs out in the childrens room:
From the library we went up 5th Ave, to Rockerfeller:
The girls and I made a stop here and Clara spent some cash on some treasures:
We stopped in Saint Patricks:
and of course there was scaffolding:
From St. Pat's we headed up to Central Park and meandered through on our way to the Met. Spring was still on it's way, but the winterberries are pretty:
These guys sounded wonderful:
We met the Fennimores on the steps of the Met and ate street vendor food for lunch:
And then we headed in to explore. Such a great collection. So thankful for the Robber Baron plunderers:
Museum feet was already setting in, but we had many many miles yet to go:
The first big trip Jennette and I took was with my Dad to NYC and DC. I believe we posed in front of this beauty then:
Lovely Ingres:
They were more into the benches at this point:
Tucker really liked the pissing cupid:
But found this one much more admirable:
We were pretty tired out after the museum. We caught the subway back down to GC and ate a lousy dinner there. Oh well. Then it was back to the apartment for bedtime:
Except Jennette and I met at Junior's for cheesecake in Times Square and then some good talk time at the Marriott Marquis, until I got a text from Rob saying Clara had barfed and could I pick up some cleaning supplies. Oh well, it was a fun day despite that little blip.

You really pack it in! (Think I've said that before.) We'll need you for a tour guide.
Love New York, love the winterberries, love Clara's coat, love Junior's cheesecake.
Wow! What great fun.
