California Trip: Balboa and Carlsbad

On Tuesday we went down to Balboa Park.  We did some time at the Natural History Museum.  It was on the crowded side but there were some fun exhibits.  After we walked around, went to the botanical garden, a tiny art museum and walked around a little more.  I love the architecture there.

That evening we picked up some delish Japanese from a place near the Kringle's and then picnicked on the beach. It was a perfect night.  The sunset was beautiful, Jim bought a surfboard for the kids to try out, sandboarding and boogie boarding happened, etc.

Beautiful day! Love the pics of the kids -- the last one of Lu & Wren is especially spectacular!

Oh my goodness, so fun! The architecture at Balboa is fabulous. Love the digital macro moment captured. And the beach looks dreamy! Who knew Tuck was such a surfer? He caught an excellent wave. The sunset... all of it looks perfect. And I'm with pod, Luc and Wrenzo is super cute.

Great beach pics! I forgot about that beach evening. Next time we'll get more warm-weather surfing in. And amen - Lu is adorable in that last pic.
