February

February involved a lot of food too.  But it also involved Anders and bucky ball specs.
The boys headed up to Wolf Creek for a weekend with the school for a fun ski trip.
There was plenty of skiing this season but not plenty of photos.
We have fallen in love with delicious New Mexican cuisine.  And attempted Green Chile stew (mmmmm), beans and rice, and sopapillas.  Yum, yum, yum.  And besides Lucy we all agree pain (heat) as a flavor is really really good.

I made a giant Indian food feast for Cafe De Valentine.  I spent about 13 hours in the kitchen.  And it was good, but I made WAY too much and not everything was as amazing as I'd hoped.  All I got photos of were the leftovers (not all are pictured), and the chocolate hazlenut tart.

As usual there were plenty of chocolates for V-day at our house and Anders got creative.
Also for Valentines Day I made a Chocolate Raspberry cake for Rob's work. I had not yet mastered the fillings and layers and it seemed at first to be un utter disaster.  I thought it would have to be scrapped.  But with some freezer time (this cake taught me how to master layers) I salvaged it.

Clara made a Valentine's Cake for her school V-day lunch

We made a birthday cake for a friend.
Made a cake for a friend's dog's birthday celebration.

Clara's school had a big dance at the end of February.  That night it DUMPED on us and my car was stranded at a friend's house and her husband had to drive us home.  But it was a fun time.  And the storm was huge but it melted quickly.  For awhile all the melting made the trails muddy and impassable.

We were super excited to get a visit from Madi and Erik just a day after they got engaged at MEOW WOLF (that place!!!).  It was so fun to have them.  And we made a New Mexican feast for them, but I toned down the spice because I couldn't remember if Madi had her mother and grandma's sensitive mouth.  She does not.  We also made an Almond Joy cake and fruit tart for the occasion.

Clara got braces!

Lucy got a cute hair cut
I made this very cute stripe cake for a fundraiser at Prep for a local bookstore. It turned out so cute.
Another most delicious bake that Clara did was a Reeses Peanut Butter Cake.  Oh my.

All these cakes! I literally decided today to go sugar-free for a week. You're killing me.
